Devcon 2026

The Ethereum Foundation hosts Devcon 8 at Jio World Centre in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex from November 3 to 6, 2026. The four-day conference is for developers, researchers, open-source contributors, designers, artists and community organizers working on Ethereum and decentralized systems. Curious beginners are welcome as well as experienced contributors.

Devcon has nine tracks:

• Core Protocol covers Ethereum research, its roadmap, consensus and staking, including the protocol's longer-term development.
• Privacy & Consent examines digital identity, self-sovereign identity and consent, alongside the effects of these systems on the communities using them.
• Security focuses on threat modeling, formal verification and operational security.
• Futures Worth Building considers coordination, public goods and open source, and how builders, communities and artists can influence technological choices.
• Users, Builders & Agents addresses wallets, account abstraction and user experience, with attention to security and privacy for people and agents using Ethereum.
• Rights, Freedoms & Governance uses case studies to examine human rights, DAOs and digital self-governance, including where these tools have failed.
• Applied Cryptography looks at practical uses of zero-knowledge proofs, multiparty computation and fully homomorphic encryption.
• Permissionless Networks covers peer-to-peer infrastructure, censorship resistance and connectivity under hostile network conditions.
• Open & Verifiable Stack examines open hardware, firmware and software, and how to verify the systems beneath an application.

Published session formats include five-minute lightning talks with two minutes for questions, 20-minute talks with five minutes for questions, 25-minute AMAs, fireside chats or roundtables, and hour-long hands-on workshops. Community hubs provide topic-focused educational spaces alongside coworking, art, music and interactive experiences. Announced speakers include Vitalik Buterin, Audrey Tang, Justin Drake, Roger Dingledine, Sandeep Nailwal, Hart Montgomery, Zachary Williamson and Fatemeh Fannizadeh. These tracks and formats describe the program; they are not a day-by-day session timetable.

General-admission tickets are sold in limited-quantity waves with purchase windows. The homepage currently lists US$499 when paying in ETH and US$999 in fiat, including 18% GST. Standard inclusions are four-day access, catering, hot drinks and event merchandise, with exceptions for some ticket types. Current availability and inclusions should be checked in the official ticket shop.

Community discounts require eligibility verification and a self-claimed discount code. They cover qualifying Indian residents and Ethereum or open-source contributors and participants. Review-based applications include student and Sanctuary Tech Builder tickets; approved applicants receive a voucher to purchase a ticket. The student route requires enrollment in an accredited degree program and relevant academic or community involvement. Short courses, bootcamps and online-only programs do not qualify. The FAQ lists October 23 as the final student application deadline, with responses by October 30.

General-admission tickets are transferable, can be purchased for someone else and allow entry with a QR code. Orders are limited to two tickets. Discounted tickets are non-transferable, must be claimed by the attendee and require ID at registration. Attendees under 16 must come with a parent or guardian who also holds a Devcon ticket.

The venue is accessible to attendees with disabilities. Sessions will be recorded and streamed on the organizer's YouTube channel. Devcon overlaps with Diwali travel, and the official travel guide includes accommodation and transport information.
