Zanzalu runs recurring builder popups in Zanzibar with a mix of local and overseas technologists. Summer coliving density is the product: live together, collaborate, leave with projects and relationships. Fumba Town editions put East African and international builders in the same coliving cohort. Zanzalu is an annual pop-up city and living laboratory in Fumba Town, Zanzibar.
Blending festival energy with a builder hub, editions pack residencies, forums, workshops, and launches into a few weeks of coliving. Participants explore technology, urbanization, and industrialization themes with peers from Africa and abroad. Fumba Town offers apartments, cafés, a gym, a supermarket, and coworking within a short distance. The airport is about 20 minutes away, and Stone Town is an easy drive for nights out, history, and food.
