Key Responsibilities
Tether Capital is launching a new credit vertical focused on providing short-term liquidity and credit facilities to fintech companies, payment providers, exchanges, and other financial institutions.
We are looking for a Credit Lead (underwriter) focused on institutional lending and liquidity to join this new initiative and help build the credit function from the ground up.
This is a hands-on role for someone with strong experience in credit underwriting and structuring, who is comfortable assessing businesses, making credit recommendations, and developing the policies and processes needed to support a growing lending platform.
- Underwrite and structure credit facilities, including revolving credit facilities, working capital loans, and liquidity facilities.
- Analyse companies' financial statements, cash flows, liquidity position and repayment capacity.
- Determine appropriate lending amounts, terms, covenants, security, and other risk protections.
- Develop credit policies, underwriting guidelines, templates, and concentration limits from scratch.
- Monitor credit risk and borrower performance and establish appropriate risk-monitoring processes.
- Support the development and scaling of the new credit business.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant credit experience.
- Strong experience in credit underwriting and structuring, rather than purely credit analysis.
- Previous experience with fintech & payments is mandatory.
- Background in institutional lending, private credit, venture debt, specialty finance, or a similar environment.
- Experience establishing or developing credit policies, processes, or risk frameworks.
- Crypto, digital assets, or stablecoin experience is a plus, but not required.
About Tether
Tether, founded in 2014 and operated from the British Virgin Islands, issues USDT — the largest stablecoin with $110B+ in circulation — and related assets EURT, CNHT and XAUT. It underpins most centralized and DeFi settlement and runs substantial US Treasury reserves. The company also backs mining, energy and peer-to-peer projects like Keet. Controversies around transparency have pushed Tether to publish attestations and diversify reserves. Candidates need comfort with high-scale financial infrastructure and operating in a scrutinized, fast-moving stablecoin environment. Tether issues USDT, the world's most widely used stablecoin, bringing digital liquidity, instant cross-border settlement, and financial inclusion to global markets.
