Vibecamp is a festival-shaped gathering for online communities that want a high-trust IRL week. It is less jurisdiction and more culture: temporary intensity, then back to the timeline. Vibecamp is a four-day gathering for curious, creative, openness-loving people, part festival, part unconference, part summer camp for adults (some bring kids).
Founded in 2021, the roughly 500-person event takes over a sprawling Maryland venue every June. The common thread among Vibecampers is high openness-to-experience and kindness to strangers. Attendees come from internet-adjacent scenes: rationalists and post-rationalists, EAs, burners, tech workers, writers, artists, therapists, and offline friends of the above. Combating modern isolation, it gathers adults to play, build, and connect through high-agency, decentralized activities.
Emphasizing fierce friendliness and deep conversation, Vibecamp encourages attendees to seed playful local communities back home. The inaugural in-person Vibecamp in 2022 at Camp Champions in Austin, TX drew about 400 attendees. A recurring IRL festival for the TPOT cloud community and adjacent internet scenes.
