Can Regulated, Tokenized Assets Trade on Open Onchain Markets? Live Demo & Panel at Hong Kong Fintech Week

About the event

Can Regulated, Tokenized Assets Trade on Open Onchain Markets? is a closed-door session co-hosted by OpenZeppelin and Ethereum Institutional during Hong Kong Fintech Week, limited to 30 senior participants from banks, market infrastructure, and regulated asset issuers.

Bringing regulated assets onto open onchain markets raises real questions for institutions, from who enforces eligibility rules to how investor data stays protected, and there are good reasons most activity still runs on permissioned platforms.

This session explores what is technically possible today and where the open questions remain. Through a live walkthrough of a tokenized money market fund trading on an open onchain market, we'll look at how identity checks can run at every trade without personal data onchain, how a transfer agent can freeze an investor and have the market respect it on the next trade, and how a jurisdiction can be switched off while everyone else keeps trading.

A panel of industry experts then debates who should hold the keys when regulated assets meet open markets, and what it takes for institutions to go live. We close with a drinks reception.

Previous OpenZeppelin institutional events drew senior guests from firms including J.P. Morgan, Citi, UBS, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, BNY, Fidelity, Mastercard, Deloitte, and more.
