Zu-Grama organizes onchain popup villages in India that fuse coliving with deep-tech and science work.

The Kerala footprint is the geographic signal most often listed.

It is part of the wider Zu- family while keeping an India-first builder mandate.

Building ties with USA, Europe and other Global tech hubs.

Participants will design, test, and take part in governance experiments that allow communities to self-organize in a transparent, scalable way.

The track will also organize dialogue with key policy makers and decision makers to understand the future of innovation in India.

Learn More Impact & Public goods 02 This track focuses on creating systems and solutions that have a positive societal impact.

It emphasizes the development of public goods—resources that benefit everyone but are often underfunded in traditional markets.

Participants will explore innovative funding models and decentralized grant systems that support public goods, ranging from infrastructure projects to open-source technologies.

Zu-Grama will also explore the intersection of translational research in the longevity space and decentralized science (DeSci).

The track aims to explore how AI can be used to solve global challenges, improve decentralized infrastructures and build systems that won't put humanity in a locked in state.

The track will also explore advanced cryptographic technologies, particularly zero-knowledge proofs (zk) and Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE).

These tools are essential for creating privacy-preserving and secure systems which are key to decentralized innovation.

Zu-Grama is an on-chain pop-up village organizer supporting builders, scientists, and founders through co-living in India.

Location

  • Zu-Grama's operations and events center in India
  • The first pop-up village it organized took place in Trivandrum, Kerala

Duration

  • Zu-Grama's first residency ran for six weeks, from January 5th to February 16th, 2025
  • A 6-week residency experiment in co-living with founders, builders, seekers, doers and experts.

Pricing

For the Zu-Grama pop-up in 2025:

  • $1,600 - 6 weeks
  • $2,100 - 3 weeks
  • $3,500 - 6 weeks
  • Tickets usually include accommodation, partial meals, and full access to the program
  • Zu-Grama offered fully funded fellowships for selected participants

History

  1. Zu-Grama emerged in 2024 as India's first pop-up village experiment, inspired by Zuzalu

  2. In January 2025, the community hosted a six-week residency bringing together over 150 participants from around the world

  3. For 2026, Zu-Grama plans to evolve from a one-off residency into an ongoing ecosystem with alumni support and new collaboration formats
