We are constantly growing and are excited to share that we are looking for a Financial Crime Operations Specialist to join our team!

This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable reviewing complex customer activity, and interested in using AI, automation, and technology to improve day-to-day investigative work.

What will you be doing?

  • Monitor and analyze customer transactions and account activity to identify unusual or suspicious behavior
  • Investigate alerts generated by transaction monitoring and fraud detection systems
  • Assess customer activity against their profile, expected behavior, occupation/business activity, geographic exposure, payment methods, and transaction history.
  • Conduct Source of Funds (SOF) and Source of Wealth (SOW) reviews, assessing supporting documents and determining whether the information provided is reasonable and consistent with the customer's activity
  • Identify potential indicators of money laundering, fraud, account misuse, mule activity, third-party funding, structuring, layering, and other financial crime risks
  • Perform holistic customer reviews using available KYC/CDD information, transaction history, previous alerts, supporting documentation, and other relevant information
  • Decide whether cases can be closed or require further investigation or escalation, applying a clear risk-based approach
  • Document investigations, findings, decisions, and rationale clearly and accurately
  • Escalate suspicious or high-risk activity to the relevant AML, Fraud, Compliance, or Financial Crime teams
  • Support the preparation of detailed investigation summaries and supporting evidence for escalated cases
  • Work closely with other teams, including AML, Fraud, Compliance, Payments, Risk, and Customer Support
  • Identify emerging fraud and AML patterns, trends, and typologies and share relevant findings with the wider team
  • Provide feedback on monitoring rules, alerts, thresholds, and processes to help improve detection of quality and efficiency
  • Use approved AI, automation, and analytical tools to support transaction analysis, information gathering, case summarization, pattern identification, and investigation workflows
  • Critically review and validate AI-generated outputs, ensuring that final decisions are always supported by appropriate human judgment
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve the efficiency and quality of the team's day-to-day work
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready case records

Requirements

Experience and skills the team lists as required:

  • Previous experience in Transaction Monitoring, AML, Fraud, Financial Crime, Compliance, or Risk, preferably within financial services, fintech, payments, forex.
  • Good understanding of AML/CTF, fraud risks, KYC/CDD, transaction monitoring, and financial crime typologies
  • Knowledge or experience in reviewing Source of Funds and Source of Wealth information and supporting documentation
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and risk indicators
  • Ability to assess information objectively and make clear, well-reasoned decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of case documentation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence working with transaction monitoring systems, case management tools, Excel, and other analytical platforms
  • Good AI and digital literacy, with an interest in using technology to improve investigative work and operational efficiency
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with a willingness to challenge existing processes and suggest improvements
