Seven more companies including Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs objected to tokenized shares on OKXICE, bringing the total to 16 of 62 named issuers.

OKXICE, the tokenized stock venue planned by crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, said in a public notice dated Oct. 19 that 16 listed companies have objected to having their shares traded on the platform, up from nine four days earlier.
The seven new names are Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Caterpillar, McDonald's and Western Digital. They join Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth Group, AppLovin, Applied Digital, Rocket Lab, CoreWeave, Applied Optoelectronics and Cerebras Systems, which were already disclosed in the earlier notice. The updated OKXICE notice does not give reasons for the objections.
Under the SEC's innovation exemption that OKXICE plans to use, a timely written issuer objection keeps a third-party token of that stock off the venue. Decrypt reported that the notice language also changed: the Oct. 15 version said the venue would offer stocks tokenized by unaffiliated third parties, while the Oct. 19 version says tokens may be issued by an outside party or the issuer itself.
OKXICE co-chair and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the notices were "not objections" in a Cointelegraph interview, characterizing them as companies waiting to see how the model works before joining. Of the 62 proposed companies on the original roster, about 25% have now objected. CoinDesk reported that Cuomo called corporate objections a natural response to the tokenized stock model during public remarks.
The venue plans 24/7 trading through permissioned Uniswap v4 pools on X Layer, with each tokenized stock paired against USDC, USDG or USDT. Nvidia and Tesla have not filed objections, according to the notice. OKXICE has not set a launch date, and the SEC innovation exemption pathway still requires the venue to meet disclosure and custody conditions the agency has not fully tested in production.
The objections matter because the innovation exemption design depends on issuer consent for third-party tokenization. A growing opt-out list shrinks the addressable universe of equities OKXICE can list without issuer participation or a redesign of the notice process.
The innovation exemption pathway depends on issuers either consenting to third-party tokenization or not responding within a statutory window. A written objection during the notice period removes that issuer's stock from the venue's third-party token list. As the count climbs toward a quarter of the original roster, OKXICE's launch universe shrinks unless the venue pivots to first-party or issuer-partnered tokens, which the revised notice language now contemplates.
Cuomo's public framing tries to separate formal objections from corporate caution. He has said repeatedly that the notices are not rejections of tokenization itself but a waiting posture while the model is proven. That argument only works if the venue launches with a credible list of non-objecting large caps. Nvidia and Tesla have not objected, according to the Oct. 19 notice, which gives OKXICE at least some marquee names to market around.
Intercontinental Exchange's involvement lends the project exchange-group credibility that pure crypto venues lack. ICE's role has been described as infrastructure and market-structure support rather than as a securities issuer. The SEC still has to accept the innovation exemption structure for the venue's listing and custody design, and no launch date has been set. Until then, each new objection notice is both a governance disclosure and a limit on the addressable market.
The list of objectors now spans Big Tech, big banks and industrial names, which suggests the objection path is being used as a default legal protective measure rather than as a strategic judgment about tokenization. Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Alphabet can afford to wait and object by default; smaller issuers may lack the legal staff to track notice windows and could miss the objection deadline by inaction.
OKXICE's permissioned Uniswap v4 pool design on X Layer is meant to satisfy both 24/7 trading expectations and regulatory surveillance requirements. Pairing each tokenized stock against USDC, USDG or USDT keeps settlement in familiar stablecoins. Without a launch date and with a shrinking third-party token list, the venue's product surface remains theoretical for most traders.
