About ether.fi

ether.fi is one of the largest DeFi protocols on Ethereum. We started with weETH, a liquid staking token that now secures billions of dollars of staked ETH, and built outward from there: the Liquid vault range, which runs automated yield strategies across ETH, stablecoins and BTC, and ether.fi Cash, a Visa card and neobank product that lets users spend directly against their on-chain balances.

Behind the protocol is a group of operating companies in Cayman, Brazil, the US, Canada and the UAE, including a regulated investment manager and a licensed VASP. We are continuing to open new markets and add additional regulated products, with finance playing a key role in this expansion.

Key Responsibilities

We're hiring a Head of Finance to run the finance function. Today finance sits with the COO/CFO and financial controller. We are looking for someone to own the following: month end, audits, budget, tax, treasury operations, fund NAV, payments and payroll. The CFO will set policy and sign off. You own everything else.

It's a small team. You'll have one accountant reporting to you and can hire as we grow, but you need to be comfortable doing the work yourself. We're based across several time zones and you'll be working with legal, compliance, ops and the product teams every week.

  • Run month end across all entities. Management accounts within 15 business days, quarterly reporting within 45 days.
  • Balance sheet recs, including wallets, exchange and custody balances against the ledger.
  • Revenue recognition for protocol fees, vault fees, card interchange and treasury income.
  • Lead our statutory audits.
  • Own the annual budget and monthly budget vs actuals. Every material assumption needs to be documented and something you can defend.
  • Cash forecasting.
  • Daily liquidity monitoring across fiat, stables and crypto. Weekly portfolio review and rebalancing to targets set by the CFO. Moving funds for payroll and payments.
  • Put intercompany agreements and a transfer pricing model in place with our advisers.
  • Tax and regulatory finance filings across Cayman, Brazil, US, Canada and UAE (economic substance, US information returns, CRA).
  • Weekly payment run, vendors, payroll and contractors in several countries, token vesting and payouts, expenses.
  • Card inventory and cost tracking with Ops.
  • Own the finance systems (QuickBooks, crypto sub-ledger, AP tool, payroll, cap table) and cut down the manual recs.
  • Work with Compliance, Ecosystem and Product on fee models and new launches. Help HR with comp budgets, relocations and payroll.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA). Big 4 audit background preferred.
  • 8+ years post-qualification, at least 4 of them in-house at a crypto, fintech or asset management business.
  • Has run a finance function before, as controller or head of finance, across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Has owned audits end to end.
  • Hands-on with intercompany agreements and transfer pricing.
  • Comfortable with crypto: wallet recs, token accounting, staking rewards, NAV for crypto funds.
  • Organised and direct. Flags problems early rather than at month end.
  • Able to work in Cayman (right to work or eligible for a permit). Relocation support is available.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Cayman funds: CIMA registration, investment manager entities, working with administrators.
  • VASP, payments or card program experience, including interchange.
  • US and Canadian tax.
  • Multi-country payroll and token compensation.
  • QuickBooks Online, a crypto sub-ledger, AP automation.

Perks & Compensation

  • Competitive salary plus ETHFI tokens.
  • Relocation support to Cayman.
  • Direct line to the CFO and a finance function you get to shape, in a business with real revenue across staking, vaults and payments.

About ether.fi

ether.fi, founded in 2022 by Mike Silagadze, founder of Top Hat, and Rok Kopp with headquarters in Grand Cayman, operates a leading decentralized liquid restaking protocol on Ethereum. Its eETH and weETH tokens let users stake ether while retaining liquidity and earning EigenLayer restaking rewards plus native yield, secured through distributed validator technology. Governance is via ETHFI token, and the protocol emphasizes non-custodial design where stakers retain key control. Securing significant TVL across Ethereum, ether.fi is audited and backed by leading investors including Bullish and CoinFund. Headquartered with a distributed team across North America and Cayman, the project blends DeFi engineering with staking operations. Expect a security-conscious culture focused on validator reliability, transparent risk and expanding restaked yield opportunities for holders.
