EthCC[10] Cannes 2027
Expected Attendance5,000+ Ethereum builders, researchers, and core devs

EthCC (Ethereum Community Conference) is Europe's largest annual community-run Ethereum event, organized by the non-profit Ethereum France. Relocating to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes for its 10th edition, EthCC is renowned for prioritizing technical depth, open-source governance, and non-commercial developer talks over promotional sales pitches. More than 5,000 core developers, cryptographers, and protocol architects attend alongside hundreds of decentralized side events.

Community-first technical programming

Since its inception in Paris, EthCC has stood apart by rejecting hyper-commercial sponsor keynotes in favor of peer-reviewed technical sessions. All stages are recorded and made freely available immediately to the global Ethereum community. Talks cover protocol upgrades, execution clients, consensus engineering, zero-knowledge rollups, account abstraction, and cryptoeconomic design.

Ticket sales support educational initiatives and open-source grants through Ethereum France, reinforcing the non-profit ethos that underpins the entire gathering.

The Cannes venue and Côte d'Azur logistics

Hosted at the world-famous Palais des Festivals on the Cannes Croisette, EthCC provides auditorium seating, sea-facing networking terraces, and purpose-built presentation stages. The venue sits adjacent to the Cannes railway station (Gare de Cannes), with frequent high-speed TGV connections to Paris and regional TER trains connecting to Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport (NCE) in just 30 minutes.

Accommodation in Cannes ranges from seaside hotels along Boulevard de la Croisette to apartments in Le Suquet and the city center, all within walking distance of the venue.

Layer 2 scaling, ZK proofs, and decentralization

EthCC stages are traditionally where Ethereum core developers debate roadmap milestones, from data availability sampling and statelessness to post-quantum cryptography. Founders and researchers from Arbitrum, Optimism, zkSync, Starknet, Base, and Ethereum Foundation researchers routinely debut research papers and protocol updates here.

The hall discussions between sessions are where cross-client benchmarks are debated and multi-rollup interoperability standards are agreed upon.

Decentralized side events and hacker houses

The week surrounding EthCC features over 200 independently organized side events: DeFi summits, ZK hackdays, MEV researcher brunches, and developer unconferences. Rather than being confined to the main venue, participants move between coastal villas, yachts, and beach venues for intimate networking.
