What you’ll do

Day-to-day scope for the Data Platform Engineer as described in the posting:

  • Develop and maintain Terraform modules for Snowflake account management, including roles, warehouses, databases, grants, and integrations
  • Implement and manage role-based access controls (RBAC), data governance tags, and dynamic masking policies in Snowflake using Infrastructure as Code
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake infrastructure changes using GitHub Actions
  • Manage Snowflake security configurations including network policies, service accounts, and identity provider integrations
  • Optimize Snowflake resource utilization, warehouse performance, and cost efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to define and enforce data governance policies and data classification standards
  • Build monitoring and alerting for infrastructure drift detection and compliance
  • Contribute to data lake architecture improvements, including open table format adoption (e.g., Apache Iceberg)

About you

Your experience should include:

Required

  • 8+ years in data engineering or data platform roles
  • Deep Snowflake administration experience, including RBAC, warehouses, masking policies, governance tags, network policies, storage integrations, and Snowpipe
  • Production Terraform experience with module development, state management, and import workflows
  • Terragrunt for multi-environment infrastructure management
  • Python proficiency
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
  • Active use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Cursor) in your engineering workflow — we expect this person to leverage AI as a productivity multiplier

Additional experience noted as a plus:

  • Data governance and compliance in regulated industries (fintech, banking, payments)
  • dbt, Dagster, or similar transformation and orchestration tools
  • Okta/SCIM integration for identity and access management
