Compliance Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain policies, procedures, and processes in alignment with MLRO.

• Train and supervise teams in alignment with MLRO.

• Handle, review, and verify all applications for client onboarding.

• Perform an effective 4-eye customer due diligence process.

• Manage and investigate escalations, reviewing transaction activity and supporting information to identify potential financial crime risks, documenting findings, and escalating cases in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor and document unusual activity or AML flags.

• Display excellent proficiency in conducting risk assessments, periodic/trigger reviews, and enhanced due diligence.

• Demonstrate proficiency in compliance applications and programs.

• Possess good knowledge of national and international AML/CFT legislation.

• Contribute to further local company processes.

• Review and assess complex Compliance escalations, considering the relevant customer profile, transaction activity, jurisdictional context, and applicable global policies.

• Apply global Compliance standards consistently while appropriately considering jurisdiction-specific nuances, regulatory requirements, and operational particularities.

• Ensure escalation decisions are aligned with applicable policies, risk appetite, and established OKIs.

• Coordinate effectively with local and global Compliance teams, FCMI, Risk, Legal, Operations, Product, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Ensure appropriate documentation, rationale, and auditability of escalation decisions.

• Identify recurring risk patterns, policy gaps, process inconsistencies, and emerging typologies and escalate them to the appropriate stakeholders.

• Support the development and refinement of escalation frameworks, controls, and decision-making processes.

• Promote consistent decision-making across jurisdictions while ensuring that material local differences are appropriately reflected.

• Provide clear and well-supported Compliance guidance to stakeholders, facilitating timely and risk-based decision-making.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A minimum of 5-years' experience in compliance, risk, fraud, legal, or regulatory function.

• Demonstrated industry experience in the finance crypto sector.

• A degree in Law/Finance/Management or a related field from an accredited institution.

• At least 5 years' experience with AML/CTF regulations and reporting.

• Competence in data management.

• An ability to work independently in a swiftly changing organization while maintaining close contact with pertinent teams.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide valuable and efficient counsel.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and management skills.
