Cafe Cursor

Cafe Cursor runs temporary cafe takeovers for AI developers who want an IRL build session instead of another Discord huddle. The format is lighter than a monthlong village: show up, ship, meet other Cursor users. Editions rotate through cities; see the official Luma calendar for the next Cafe Cursor takeover. Cafe Cursor is a series of popup cafe takeovers where AI builders and indie hackers gather to work.

Each event turns a local cafe into a temporary coworking space. Following initial events in San Francisco and New York, the project grew through community ambassadors who host local editions. Approved hosts receive support to run their own popups. The network now spans more than 80 countries with hundreds of events run by local ambassadors.

Ambassadors receive playbooks to reserve cafes, coordinate RSVPs on Luma, and welcome local AI builders for a few hours of coworking. The format stays intentionally lightweight: no monthlong visas, just repeatable city-level events that scale through volunteers. Jan 2026 Global expansion The network expanded to Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
