Boston DAO Converge: Crypto, AI & the Future of Agentic Finance

Boston DAO Converge folds stablecoins, policy and agentic finance into one afternoon on Friday 25 September 2026 at Foley Hoag's Seaport conference centre — the merged heir to ETHBoston and Solana Boston, staged as part of Boston Fintech Week.

Two ecosystems' conferences become one

The Boston DAO has run the city's independent crypto conferences since 2019: ETHBoston in 2019, 2023, 2024 and 2025, then Solana Boston in 2024 and 2025 — the first Solana city conference held anywhere. Converge is what those become in 2026, same organisers and standard but no longer split by ecosystem, with backing from Stand With Crypto and Fintech Sandbox behind the scenes.

Placement matters as much as lineage. Converge sits inside Boston Fintech Week, which puts the crypto crowd in front of the city's traditional finance and fintech establishment, and vice versa. For an afternoon built around themes that belong to no single chain, that cross-pollination is not decoration — it is the point.

Three questions worth an afternoon

The first theme is stablecoins, which the organisers call the most boring and most consequential thing in crypto: payment rails, treasury operations, bank integration, and what changes when dollars settle instantly and globally by default. Boston, home to Circle among others, has a genuine claim on that conversation.

The second is AI — specifically agents starting to hold keys, move value and make decisions without a human in the loop. Agentic finance is the slice of the AI story that runs on crypto rails, and it is arriving faster than the frameworks meant to govern it. The third is policy: market-structure legislation moving with midterms months away, handled by putting candidates, officeholders, counsel and advocates into sessions with the founders they regulate. Additional programming spans DeFi, security, infrastructure and market structure.

The sequencing of those three themes is deliberate. Stablecoins give the room shared ground — bank counsel and DeFi developers alike hold a stake in dollar rails. Agentic finance supplies the frontier angle, early enough that positioning now pays later. Policy binds both to reality, since nothing discussed survives contact with whatever market-structure rules pass next. An afternoon cannot settle these debates, but it can put every side in one zip code, which is more than most conferences manage in three days.

The city that can fill both sides of the room

Boston's qualification for this agenda is structural. Fidelity, Circle, Coinbase, Castle Island Ventures and Accomplice all operate there, while MIT, Harvard, BU and Northeastern feed a steady pipeline of founders and engineers. Very few cities hold institutional capital and academic output in the same boundaries; Converge is built as the room where the two sides actually meet.

The seating chart enforces it. Builders beside investors, startups beside institutions, students beside growing companies, researchers beside operators — two stages in one location, arranged so conversations that usually happen in separate buildings happen in the same one. It is a simple layout choice with outsized consequences for who talks to whom.

Sixteenth-floor views, five-dollar tickets, brewery after-party

The venue is Foley Hoag's conference centre at 155 Seaport Blvd, spread across the 16th and 17th floors with harbour and skyline views, a main stage, breakout space and dedicated sponsor and networking areas. When sessions end, the after-party moves to Cisco Brewers Seaport's open-air bungalow lounge, a short walk away and open to everyone attending Boston Fintech Week — not just Converge badge holders.

Ticketing stays deliberately accessible: a $5 early-bird flash sale, a standard tier, discounted admission for students who register with a .edu address, and an approval tier for paid Fintech Sandbox Innovation Forum holders — with name-your-own-price at checkout. Speaker announcements roll out through August and September, and sponsorship remains open, including speaking positions. Watch the Boston DAO calendar for each drop.
