SingHacks 2026

SingHacks 2026, Tenity's second-edition hackathon, brings students and professionals together in Singapore on September 4-5 for a free, onsite 48-hour sprint building agentic AI tools for banking, insurance, and digital assets.

A Second Edition With a Sharper Brief

SingHacks returns for its second edition on September 4-5, 2026, produced by Tenity, the fintech innovation organization behind the event. The format is a two-day, fully onsite hackathon in Singapore with no overnight stays permitted; the venue closes each evening after the program ends and reopens the next morning.

This year's theme is agentic AI applied to finance. Participants build autonomous agents that take on real problems in banking, insurance, and digital assets, guided by mentors supplied by partner institutions. Any programming language or framework is fair game, which keeps the entry barrier low for newcomers who bring energy rather than a specific stack.

Organizers bill SingHacks as Asia's first agentic AI hackathon dedicated to fintech, and they are planning for more than 200 hackers alongside over ten partner organizations. Registration runs through the event's Luma page, and applications are reviewed rather than automatic.

Three Tracks, Three Institutional Partners

The challenge set comes straight from industry partners. In RegTech Intelligence, backed by banking partner Julius Baer, teams build agents that surface compliance risks, flag suspicious transactions, and streamline customer onboarding for financial institutions drowning in manual review work.

Empowered Finance, with Hedera as blockchain partner, asks for agentic systems around payments, identity, and impact aimed at trusted, inclusive innovation. Conversational Insurance, set jointly by Ancileo and MSIG, tasks teams with turning travel insurance into a conversational journey instead of a form-filling ordeal.

Support depth is unusual for a hackathon this accessible. The published mentor and judge roster includes engineers and executives from firms such as Goldman Sachs, Societe Generale, Visa, AWS, Snowflake, and Julius Baer itself. Judges evaluate projects on innovation, technical implementation, potential market impact, and presentation quality.

How the 48 Hours Actually Run

Day one opens with a ceremony: welcome reception, keynote speeches, and team formation before hacking begins. Solo applicants get matched with teammates during formation, and teams cap at four members. A mid-event checkpoint brings mentors around tables for feedback, technical guidance, and strategic advice on the agent solutions taking shape.

Day two closes with code freeze, final submissions, and live demos to the judging panel. The closing ceremony announces finalist teams advancing to a next stage, with cash prizes among the rewards organizers have promised alongside hiring and collaboration opportunities with partners.

Logistics are covered once you are in. Meals, drinks, workspace, and development resources come with participation. Bring your own laptop and chargers, pack personal snacks if you like, and add a jacket since Singapore event venues tend to run cold.

Cost, Eligibility, and Fine Print

Participation is completely free. There is no travel reimbursement, though, so international applicants budget their own flights and accommodation, and everyone must be physically present because there is no hybrid or remote track. That single constraint shapes who shows up: people who already planned to be in Singapore that week, or who consider the access worth the airfare.

Eligibility is broad by design. Students, developers, startup founders, and AI enthusiasts of any skill level can apply from any country. If you are accepted and cannot make it, tell organizers early so waitlisted participants can claim the spot rather than leaving desks empty.

For companies, a few sponsorship slots were still open at publication. For everyone else the calculus is short: two days, zero fees, and direct contact with banks, insurers, and chains actively scouting builders for hiring and collaboration.
