About Polymarket

Company context from the listing:

Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs.

We're growing fast, both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.

About the Role

Day-to-day scope for the Head of Product Legal as described in the posting:

Polymarket sits at the intersection of information markets, crypto, and traditional derivatives — and the regulatory environment is actively evolving. As Head of Product Legal, you will be the person who keeps us moving fast without stepping on landmines.

You will sit between the legal and product functions and work daily with product and engineering. Your job is to be the first filter on new market categories, new product surfaces, and new features before they ship.

We need someone who has seen enough of crypto compliance and financial regulation to recognize exposure early, translate it into product constraints the team can act on, and help us build things that hold up as scrutiny increases. If you want to do traditional legal work, this is the wrong role.

What You'll Do

Day-to-day scope for the Head of Product Legal as described in the posting:

  • Review new market categories and product features for regulatory exposure before they launch, and give the product team a clear, actionable answer on what's viable and what isn't.
  • Translate legal and compliance constraints into specific product requirements that engineering can build to, without requiring lawyers in every sprint.
  • Contribute to the overall product roadmap by flagging regulatory risk early and helping prioritize what we build and in what order.
  • Work directly with product managers and engineers to embed legal thinking into the design process from the start, not as a final review gate.
  • Build internal frameworks and guidelines that let the team move faster by making common legal questions answerable without escalation.
  • Monitor the regulatory environment across crypto, derivatives, and prediction markets and bring relevant developments to the product and leadership team before they become problems.
  • Make fast, well-reasoned calls on novel legal risk in real time, owning those decisions and documenting the rationale clearly.

What We're Looking For

  • JD required. You have practiced law and understand how to construct a legal argument, not just summarize one.
  • 8 or more years of experience at the intersection of legal and product, either in-house at a tech or crypto company or in a regulatory advisory role where you were embedded with a product team.
  • You know how regulators think and what they look for.
  • Prior work in crypto.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment. You don't need a large team or established playbooks to do your best work.
  • Strong product instincts. You have worked at or with world-class product teams, understand the full surface of a consumer product, and can think in terms of user flows and tradeoffs.
  • (Plus) Direct experience with CFTC regulation or derivatives compliance. If you've dealt with prediction markets, swaps, or event contracts specifically, that's a meaningful edge.

Benefits

What the posting highlights about the offer:

  • Competitive salary & equity
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage
  • 401k match
  • Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
