Devconnect 2026

Devconnect, the Ethereum Foundation's city-wide gathering of independent Ethereum events, occupies Bangkok from November 9 to 12. There is no single mainstage: dozens of self-organized events, co-working hubs, workshops, and hackathons run in parallel across the city, unified by a shared calendar rather than a shared gate.

A week, not a conference

Devconnect inverts the standard format. The Foundation curates venues, provides infrastructure, and publishes the schedule; communities run everything else. L2-specific dev days, ZK research salons, account abstraction workshops, local DAO gatherings, and regional community summits each set their own agendas and admission. Attendees pick two or three threads and go deep; attempting everything produces nothing.

The format rewards residents and return visitors: knowing which rooms host the people you need precedes the week itself. Co-working hubs function as the event's true center of mass, where serendipity compounds across days rather than concentrating in coffee-break intervals.

Bangkok advantages

Bangkok combines low costs, deep hospitality infrastructure, superb food, and an existing builder community seasoned by previous Thai conference seasons. Accommodation spans every budget, transit via BTS/MRT covers the main districts, and evening networking spills into some of the world's best street dining, which keeps side-event costs trivially low compared with Western capitals.

It follows Devcon Mumbai by days, letting international visitors chain both, and precedes Binance Blockchain Week in the same city later in November, making Bangkok the logical base for a full Southeast Asian November circuit. Visa-on-arrival and exemption policies cover many nationalities; confirm current terms before flying.

Navigating a distributed week

Success at Devconnect requires choosing lanes early. L2-focused developers gravitate toward rollup dev days, cryptography researchers follow the ZK salon circuit, and public-goods contributors orbit Gitcoin-adjacent gatherings. The Foundation publishes the full calendar weeks ahead, and popular individual events implement their own registrations with capacity limits independent of general attendance.

Bangkok's Sukhumvit and Sathorn corridors host most venues, BTS Skytrain connections keep movement sane despite traffic, and co-working hubs operate extended hours for teams treating the week as a working residency. Costs run low enough that solo founders and students attend comfortably, preserving the format's accessibility mission.

Devconnect Bangkok follows format refinements from earlier editions in Istanbul and elsewhere. The Foundation designates official venues hosting concurrent programming, publishes comprehensive schedules coordinating independently organized events, and provides wayfinding infrastructure making a distributed format navigable. Bangkok's selection acknowledges Thai community strength: local universities contribute blockchain engineering graduates, Thai exchanges operate under licensed regimes, and the city previously hosted major crypto conferences demonstrating venue capability. Attendees extending stays find Thailand's remote-work infrastructure, coworking memberships, visa options, reliable connectivity, supports productive decompression, and November's shoulder season prices accommodation favorably before December high-season rates arrive.

Individual Devconnect events manage their own admissions, many free with capacity limits, so registering for specific sessions matters more than a general pass. Bangkok BTS Skytrain Rabbit cards simplify venue-hopping, and riverside piers add scenic commuting between far-flung community spaces.

Bangkok's co-working spaces offer Devconnect attendee discounts throughout the week, and the Foundation's published neighborhood guide maps venues against accommodation zones with typical Ethereum-community thoroughness.
