The Pakhuis de Zwijger venue experience
Pakhuis de Zwijger is a former refrigerated warehouse on Amsterdam's Eastern Docklands (Oostelijke Handelskade) converted into a multi-story cultural and debate center. With brick industrial architecture, multiple theater auditoriums, and canal-side outdoor decks, it offers one of the most distinctive event atmospheres in Europe.
The venue is easily accessed via Tram 26 from Amsterdam Centraal Station (a 7-minute ride to the Kattenburgerstraat stop) or a scenic 15-minute bike ride along the IJ waterfront.
The 48-hour builder hackathon
Half of the ETHDam venue is dedicated to the hackathon floor, where developers, cryptographers, and UI designers build prototypes over 48 hours. Bounties from major privacy networks and Ethereum protocols reward functional tools that preserve user autonomy and resist censorship.
